SOIL+ is a programme of NL Agency. This agency of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs implements national government policy in a professional, effective and inspiring way by order of the State government.
NL Agency stands for innovation and sustainability. It strives to achieve a strong innovative business community in a safe and supportive, sustainable society. Promoting sustainable economic growth by building a bridge between the market and government. At national and international level. It provides companies, (knowledge) institutions and government authorities with advice, knowledge and financial support. In short Nl Agency brings parties together with a passion for a sustainable and innovative society.
Its mission is to implement government policies on innovation, environment and sustainability in inspiring, forward-looking and professional ways and to promote their coherence with cost-effective quantifiable results, applying the best possible mix of policy instruments based on experience and synergy.
The Soil+ programme was set up in 2005 to operate as an intermediary between environmental policies and legislation covered by the national Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment on one hand and the daily practice of soil quality management by local authorities on the other.
About half of the programme focuses on implementation of environmental legislation including:
SOIL+ promotes knowledge development and exchange in the areas of risk assessment and in-situ remediation technologies. This also concludes counsel to governments on soil-related issues such as clean-ups, reuse, treatment and landfills. Based on thorough knowledge of current practices, the programme advises on new policies to ensure practical operability.
