INERIS (French National Instiute for Industrial Environment and Risks)

INERIS (1990) is an EPIC (French public research body of an industrial and commercial character). This national expert at the service of environmental safety works under the aegis of the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning. Located at Verneuil-en-Halatte in the Picardy Region 60 km from Paris, INERIS is equipped with the best physicochemical analysis laboratories and testing and computing facilities in France.

Its mission is to carry out or commission studies and research programmes aimed at preventing the risks brought about by economic activities on health, the safety of persons and property and on the environment, and to provide any services intended to facilitate the adaptation of companies with this objective in mind.

INERIS stands for quality commitment and deontology. It is ISO 9001 certified for its study, consultancy, expert appraisal, testing, training and product manufacturing activities. It is also COFRAC (French Accreditation Committee) certified for various testing and calibration activities and has been recognised as complying with Good Laboratory Practices in the fields of toxicology and ecotoxicology. Deontology charter that sets out the principles that the Institute strives to comply with in carrying out its missions, attaining its objectives and in its relations with its partners.
